AYSO Region 922 Board Positions

Regional Commissioner

Leads the Region’s day-to-day operations and strategy, ensuring compliance with AYSO bylaws, policies, and financial/reporting requirements. Appoints Recommends appointments for key roles to the Board for review and oversees key board roles (e.g., CVPA, Treasurer, Registrar, RCA/RRA) and chairs board meetings. Serves as the primary liaison to Area/Section and is accountable for delivering a quality, safe soccer program.



Assistant Regional Commissioner

Supports the RC across operations (volunteer recruitment, scheduling coordination, inter-region play) and steps in when the RC is unavailable. Helps implement board policies and assists with cross-functional problem-solving during the season. Often represents the Region in Area/Section meetings as needed.



Coach Administrator

Administers the Region’s coaching program and ensures every coach is properly registered, trained, and certified per AYSO’s National Coaching Program and Safe Haven. Works with the RC, Registrar, and division staff to make sure there are enough trained coaches for all teams. Plans coach education with Coach Trainers and coordinates ongoing support throughout the season.



Coach Trainer

Delivers coach training at the regional level in accordance with the AYSO National Coaching Program (e.g., 6U–14U/Intermediate courses and refreshers). Schedules and teaches clinics, and may coordinate additional instructors to meet seasonal demand. Provides on-field methodology support so coaches apply age-appropriate practice plans.



Referee Administrator

Implements the AYSO National Referee Program locally: recruits, registers, trains/certifies, and schedules referees (or delegates scheduling) in coordination with the game scheduler. Appoints directors for instruction/assessment as appropriate, maintains season-long communication, and prepares a referee work plan and budget. Ensures Safe Haven/Safesport/Concussion compliance and supports consistent Law application.



Registrar

Plans and runs annual registration for players and volunteers, maintains the Region’s registration data, and supports team formation workflows. Coordinates with the CVPA for volunteer screening/compliance and with the Treasurer for fee accuracy and reporting. Ensures registration systems and records are accurate and exportable for coaches/referees.



Field Coordinator / Equipment Manager

Secures, allocates, and maintains playing and practice fields (permits, layouts, lining), and monitors field safety/conditions in partnership with the Safety Director. Coordinates corrections for hazards/defects and communicates field availability and changes to schedulers and game ops. Oversees core equipment inventory, distribution, and repair/replacement as needed.



Treasurer

Safeguards regional funds and financial records; deposits receipts, pays approved expenses, reconciles accounts, and reports the Region’s financial condition to the board. Ensures compliance with AYSO’s National Accounting Program and supports required government filings to protect nonprofit status. Works closely with the RC, Registrar, and CVPA to keep registration/fee remittances current.



Scheduler

Builds and maintains the official master schedule (games/fields/times), coordinating with Referee Admin and Field Coordinator to ensure coverage and field readiness. Publishes updates and reschedules approved by the board so referees, coaches, and families have a single source of truth. Assists the RC with broader calendar planning across inter-regional play and events.



Child & Volunteer Protection Advocate (CVPA)

Oversees the Region’s Safe Haven and child/volunteer protection program: volunteer registration, screening, training status, and record-keeping. Serves as the local resource for good-faith reporting and mandated-reporting coordination with the RC. Partners with Coach/Referee Admins to ensure all volunteers remain compliant each season.



Safety Director

Leads the Region’s safety program: field/venue safety awareness, incident processes, and insurance information. Works with the RC to secure permits/COIs and to mitigate hazards before matches/practices. Promotes Safe Haven best practices across coaches, referees, and parents.



Parent Liaison / Communication Coordinator

Manages internal communications (site, email, social) so families receive timely, consistent information on schedules, policies, and events. Coordinates with publicity/marketing volunteers to keep public-facing updates accurate. Including social media material. Provides feedback loops from families to the board to clarify questions and reduce confusion.
