What Info Should I email to the Coach Administrator if I want to be a coach?
When you email Regional Coach Administrator to let him know you want to be a coach or assistant coach, please send your phone number, which division (check your child's birth year on the age chart) and if it's girls or boys you'd like to coach or assistant coach, if you have a child that will be on your team and your child's name (so we can match your child to your team when creating teams), if you are a returning coach and what is the best time for you to attend a coaching class. We will be holding coach training clinics and will post coach clinics here as well as email them to you.
COACHING REQUIREMENTS : Four Mandatory courses, Background Check and Coach certification in each Age Group you wish to coach.
- BACKGROUND CHECK: Every AYSO volunteer must submit and pass a background check for the safety of all the kids. Don't pay, decline that option and have the Region pay for the background check.
- AYSO SAFE HAVEN: All Coaches are required to complete this online course.
- CONCUSSION TRAINING: Also online.
- SAFE SPORTS: National Youth Sports Program that is similar to AYSO Safe Haven.
- SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST: What to do if your player suddenly has a Cardiac Event.
CERTIFICATIONS to COACH
- Playground/Schoolyard/Kickstart: 3-5 year olds. Activity Leader, preferably Advance Coach Certiifed.
- 6U: Coach 5 year olds. 6U Certified
- 8U: Coach 6-7 year olds. 8U Certified
- 10U: Coach 8-9 year olds. 10U Certified
- 12U: Coach 10-11 year olds. 12U Certified
- 14U: Coach 12-13 year olds. Intermediate and 12U Certified.
- 16U: Coach 14-15 year olds: Advance and Intermediate Certified.
- 18/19U: Coach 16-18 year olds: Advance and Intermediate Certified
