General Information for all AYSO Parents:

Before proceeding, please see "TEAM/AGE CHART" tab for your child's Division placement based on their birth year.  It is confusing, please do not assume you know. The soccer year continues until next year so the Fall league age divisions are based on age at end of next year.  For example, 2018 Fall league is based on age at end of 2019.

12u, 14u, 16u and 18u all play in a bigger "Area" league, also know as REGION INTERPLAY, that includes all AYSO Regions in Southern AZ that make up Section 12A.  Oro Valley's Region 922 is part of Area 12A.  Playing in the Area league offers travel to other fields (mainly in Tucson) to play against teams outside of Oro Valley.  High School age divisions will start and end sooner so players can be involved with their High School team.

Participation levels vary every year, meaning divisions could be changed - combined and or playing coed.   This is usually determined in mid to late August at an Area meeting consisting of all the 12A Regions.  They will decide on what is best for all the Regions so as many kids can participate as possible.  Refunds can be given if you are not satisfied with the decision.

Practices will be held in Oro Valley and usually consist of 2 weeknights per week for 1.5 or 2 hours long.  Days and times are determined by Coach.  Games can be played on Wednesday nights and Saturday days.
Game schedule will be posted on the 12A website http://www.ayso12a.org/  Changes happen depending on fields and volunteers' availability, so check your schedule weekly.

We encourage 12U teams to play in "Soccerfest", an Area wide 2 or 3 day weekend tournament in December (games could be Fri/Sat/Sun or just Sat/Sun depending on schedule.)  Each team/coach makes the decision with parents to participate independently from other teams/region.  The Region may or may not pay for their entry.

All Star or Travel Team formation is a possibility to continue playing after the Fall season.  It is tryout based - players could be told they did not make the team, depending on the number trying out.
